Welcome to the website of Wild Wings Conservancy ("WWC," "we," "us," or "our"), located at https://www.wildwingsconservancy.org (the "Site"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site, including any content, features, or services offered through the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

 

1. Use of the Site


The Site provides information about WWC's mission to conserve, restore, and manage habitats for waterfowl, upland birds, and associated wildlife through a network of primarily small (2-10 acre) no-contact refuges in North Carolina's Piedmont region, along with related education, outreach, technology tools (e.g., apps for real-time monitoring), and opportunities to get involved (e.g., donations, volunteering).
You may use the Site for lawful, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any Site content without our prior written permission (except as allowed under fair use or for personal, non-commercial reference with attribution).

  • Use the Site to transmit viruses, spam, or harmful code.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or our systems.

  • Use automated tools (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the Site without permission.

 

2. Intellectual Property


All content on the Site—including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, app descriptions, and materials related to our conservation efforts—is owned by WWC or our licensors and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may view, download, or print content for personal, non-commercial use only, provided you retain all copyright and proprietary notices.

 

3. Donations and Payments


Any donations made through the Site are voluntary and non-refundable, except as required by law. WWC is in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status; until IRS approval, donations may not be tax-deductible—consult your tax advisor. We use secure third-party processors for payments; we do not store full payment card details.

 

4. No-Contact Refuges and Public Information


Information about our refuges (locations, viewing stations, etc.) is provided for educational and engagement purposes. Refuges are no-contact zones to protect wildlife—do not enter posted areas, disturb habitats, or engage in prohibited activities. We are not responsible for any risks associated with visiting public lands or following the Site information.

 

5. Disclaimers


The Site and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. WWC does not warrant that the Site will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that any information (e.g., on bird populations, habitats, or events) is complete, accurate, or current. Use of the Site is at your own risk.

 

6. Limitation of Liability


To the fullest extent permitted by law, WWC, its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

 

7. Indemnification


You agree to indemnify and hold WWC harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

 

8. Changes to Terms
